White Horse For Indian Weddings
In order to serve the South Asian Indian community in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee, we have invested in traditional Ghori (horse) costumes and Indian style clothing for our horses' handlers. Their ghori costumes are elaborately decorated in maroon and gold to compliment the groom's clothing as he rides to the temple on horseback among his friends and family. We have two beautiful white Percheron horses, Amber and Handsome, who have been used in baraats for many years. They are calm and gentle and accoustomed to the loud and colorful festivities of the baraat. Both horses are pictured below in their wedding costumes along with their handlers.
We are accepting bookings for wedding ceremonies, so reserve Amber or Handsome early for your wedding to ensure availability. Amber and Handsome's costumes include an optional umbrella. Be sure to specify if you want it included. Both horses are pictured below in their natural state.
Price = $700
(within 15-mile radius from DBF)
Price is non-negotiable.
Give us a call at 919-323-1265 or email Carla to check for availability on the date of your wedding. If we have a horse available, you'll need to submit a $100 deposit to reserve it. Then you will need to pay the balance of $600 at least one month prior to the wedding. This means you can avoid having to deal with payment on the day of the wedding, and it prevents us from having to track down the person responsible for payment before or after the ceremony. It's just easier on everyone involved. Some people prefer to pay in full when making the reservation, and that's permissible as well.
How Can I Submit My Deposit?
Option 1: Use The Paypal Payments Feature On Our Website
You don't have to be a Paypal member to use the Paypal Payments feature. It will allow you to use a credit or debit card to submit your deposit securely online. You will receive confirmation of your deposit from Paypal immediately, and you'll receive a confirmation of your reservation from us within one day of your submission. To help keep our costs and prices down, we request that the balance be paid in cash. Remember, you don't have to be a Paypal member to use the Paypal Payments feature below.
Simply click on the Paypal Payments button and then choose one of the following options: Login to my Paypal Account or Pay with Debit or Credit card.
Option 2: Call Us With Your Credit Card Details
We accept Mastercard and Visa by phone for the deposit, and no processing fee will be billed to you. However, if you choose to pay the balance using a Credit or Debit card, we will add 4% to your balance. As a small business, we cannot absorb the costs that the credit card companies assess on the full amount. Call (919) 323-1265 if you wish to use a credit card over the phone for your deposit.
Option 3: Mail A Check
If you pay your deposit by check, you can assume we received it unless you hear from us otherwise. But to avoid the obvious risks associated with accepting checks, we request that you pay the balnce in cash. If making your deposit by personal or certified check, please make the check payable to Dead Broke Farm and mail it to our home office:

Horseback Riding Liability Release Form
No formal contract is required, but the groom must sign a Horseback Riding Liability Release form. It can be returned in any of the following ways:
- Fax: 919-596-8256
- Mail to address above
In the event of rain or a forecast for rain of more than 50%, you have the option of cancelling your reservation to use our white horse for your wedding. If you cancel, you will receive a full refund less the $100 deposit. However, if you cancel for any other reason, and it is within 1 month prior to the wedding, you will only receive half of your total paid, i.e. you will be refunded $350 of the $700, because we will be unable to backfill the reservation with a new booking given such short notice. But if you cancel with at least 30 days' notice, you will be refunded your $100 deposit (and the $600 balance provided you had paid in full initially when reserving your horse).
